“Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” (John 3:3)
Jesus was very straight forward when he said that you must be born again to reach heaven. Many have trouble with the phrase “Born Again”. Nicodemus in the very next verse asked “How can a man be born again if he is old?” Well, it’s not a physical rebirth, but a spiritual rebirth; your birth into the family of God. There is only one way to heaven and that’s through Jesus Christ. Many people, even some that call themselves Christians, believe there are many ways to the kingdom of God through various religions. Scripture clearly disagrees with that idea and proclaims that the only way to the Father is through the Son. We must be spiritually born again into the family of God.
As we seek a relationship with God, we learn that “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved” (Romans 10:13). When we call on Jesus, verbally acknowledge Him as our Savior, believe in our hearts that he has risen from the dead and then turn to a life lead by the Holy Spirit, we become part of the family of God. We become spiritual brothers and sisters with the people that make up the body of Christ and become children of the Most High. We are the family that has no limit on its capacity. All are welcome to the kingdom of God.
