“For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.” (Romans 8:6-8)
The people of Earth, and especially those of the Western industrialized world, are becoming more and more hostile toward God. They don’t understand Him, because they haven’t read the Bible or they haven’t truly sought Him out. They also haven’t given up their carnal thoughts and choose not to give up those thoughts. The thought that an unseen God is in control of everything, including them, angers them. They want autonomy. They want control. They don’t want to be obligated to God’s will. They know that they cannot please Him, so they become enraged by the mere thought of Him. They develop scientific reasons to shun Him and try to make God irrelevant, but to no avail.
God is in control. The spiritually minded life is life and the carnally minded life is death. Being subject to the laws of God is not subjugation to a tyrannical deity; it is life and liberty in service to the creator, master and sustainer of everything by faith that results in His grace – the undeserved forgiveness of all our sins. He unchains us from the bonds of sin and carnality and liberates us by His grace and mercy, culminating in a personal relationship with God and eternal life.
Reject the carnality of this world and anger towards God, and open your heart to being spiritually minded, loving and honoring God.
