“Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.” Romans 8:37
Paul was questioning the Romans as he taught in his letter, “Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?” (Romans 8:35) No, nothing can separate us from the love of Christ and the rewards of being Christians. We live blessed lives – we know and have a personal relationship with the creator, master and sustainer of the universe. We will see Heaven! We will meet Jesus! We will have eternal life and peace, comfort and service alongside of our friends and family in Heaven. What a glorious time that will be! We are truly blessed and that blessed life starts here and now. We can live victorious lives.
I see so many Christians living downtrodden lives, lives of self-pity, worry, anxiety, despair, fear, distress and all types of defeatism, but Paul inspired by God says, “Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.” Romans 8:37. Christ makes it possible to live victorious lives in spite of all the trials, tribulations, persecutions and worries of life, including death. We can stand boldly and proclaim that we are not afraid of anything! Death is meaningless, because we have eternal life, so even if threatened with hunger, famine, pestilence, bodily harm or even impending violent death, we can know God’s will is perfect and will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.
Children of the Almighty God, born again believers, shed your downtrodden lives and claim the victory that you already have. Just claim it and live it. Amen!
